Spotlight on Supporter Susan Goldstein

Editor’s Note: The VTI would not be where it is today without the support of our hardworking supporters who contribute to the VTI fundraisers. We will be spotlighting some of our contributors in our monthly blogs. This month’s spotlight will be on Susan Goldstein. http://www.sbsginteriordesign.com

VTI: Thank you for joining us today, Susan. What do you do for a living?

S: Hi, I am an interior designer in NYC. In addition to working with private clients for their homes and offices I also stage apartments and townhomes for sale in NY.

VTI: What do you enjoy most about your work?

S: I never know who I am going to meet when they open the door of their home and also, I get to see some of the most amazing spaces in NYC.

VTI: How did you first learn about Validation?

S: I have known Vicki de Klerk since she was a teenager. She was always self-directed and confident and I greatly enjoyed watching her grow into a strong and purposeful woman and mother. Watching Vicki work with her mother to grow Validation has been extremely satisfying. The work they provide is invaluable and supporting Vicki’s efforts are very important to me.

VTI: What do you enjoy most about interacting with the elderly?

S: I was fortunate that my parents had excellent care and my brother and family were there to support them. I know that not all seniors enjoy that luxury so supporting Validation is a way of ensuring that all our elders are cared for as they age.

VTI: How has Validation impacted your life?

S: My husband is about to turn 80. He suffered a stroke last April and two more on New Year’s Day 2019. The second episode kept him in the hospital for 23 days and he has not made as quick a recovery as he did in 2018. He will turn 80 in July so I am not sure when but I imagine that Validation will have an impact at some point in our future and am grateful that I might have Vicki to advise me.

VTI: So, where do you live now?

S: I live in the heart of NYC at Columbus Circle.

VTI: What do you like to do when you are not working?

S: Unfortunately, as a small business owner I don’t have a lot of free time and when we do, we go to our house in upstate NY where I enjoy watching the grass grow.

Thank you, Susan, for your support!
