The Validation Training Institute recently named a care center for older adults in Western France as the country’s first recipient of the Validation Certificate of Quality.
“Le Septier d’ Or,” which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, earned the distinction after being evaluated in June 2016. The care community earned high marks in the following areas:
• Philosophy of care
• Physical environment
• Documentation/coordination of care
• Caregiver skills/staffing
• Resident dignity
• Activities offered
• Dining program
• Engagement of family and friends
• Safety and control issues
“We are delighted that you have integrated Validation into the heart and soul of your organization and thank you for making the lives of your residents more worthwhile and joyful,” wrote VTI Executive Director Vicki de Klerk-Rubin in a congratulatory letter to the center.
Le Septier d’ Or has adopted Validation practices since 2009, and it currently has 12 Validation practitioners on staff.
