We’re excited to welcome SERVIOR as a new Authorized Validation Organization (AVO) in Luxembourg!
SERVIOR operates 15 senior living communities across the country, offering a wide range of services not only for residents but also for older adults living in the wider community. Whether it’s short-stay vacation rooms, engaging daytime activities, meals-on-wheels, or a full warm lunch service — they’ve thought of everything.
Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of visiting two of their homes, and I have to say — these residents dine better than most of us! Mealtimes are treated with care and elegance, more like a fine French restaurant than a care home. What truly impressed me was the attention to detail in the dining experience. Each home has a maître d’ — yes, really! These charming, sharply dressed professionals greet diners, seat them, and make sure meals are served just right. And they don’t just serve meals — they know the habits and preferences of every individual. Mrs. Smith gets her tea in the morning, while Mr. Jones prefers his coffee. It’s these little things that make a big difference.
Beyond their passion for good food and gracious service, SERVIOR is also a national leader in dementia-friendly care and staff training. They’ve embraced the Validation method whole-heartedly, making it part of the culture at every level of the organization. That includes everyone — from IT support to housekeeping to direct care staff. They started a few years ago by training Level 1 workers, then moved on to Group Leaders. And now in 2025, they have four staff members who are either co-training to become Teachers or about to begin that journey. It’s an impressive commitment to quality and compassion.
One of the things that makes their achievement especially noteworthy is that all this training happens in not just one, but two languages — French and German. The official languages of Luxembourg are German, French and Luxembourgish. VTI hopes to have Luxembourgish-speaking Validation Teachers soon.
SERVIOR has been in the business of supporting older people for over 20 years, and they take a holistic approach to care. Their motto says it all: “An excellent support in all stages of old age.” From what I saw during my visits, they truly live up to it.
We’re thrilled to have SERVIOR join the international Validation community. Their dedication, innovation, and heart-centered care are a shining example of what’s possible when an organization fully commits to supporting older adults with dignity and respect.
