Validation Training Institute (VTI) Founder Naomi Feil and VTI Executive Director Vicki de Klerk will present an exclusive workshop in Washington, D.C., at George Washington University on Sept. 15. (See the attached flyer posted with this article for more details or click on the link above).
For the first time in the U.S. capitol, the duo will share information on effective Validation techniques as well as general information on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
“This is such a unique event in a unique location, and VTI wants to use this as an opportunity to get Validation supporters involved,” said de Klerk. “In that spirit, we encourage you to reach out to your local political representatives who reside in D.C. and invite them to the event.”
Supporters who wish to contact their representatives should visit www.house.gov. Simply input your zip code to find contact information for your local representatives. Senatorial information can be found at www.senate.gov.
“This is potentially a wonderful way for us to have an audience with American political leaders and policy makers, and to educate them about Validation while promoting dementia and Alzheimer’s awareness,” said de Klerk. “We are fortunate that the workshop coincides with a major election year. If done well, this could make an important impact in our fight to promote Validation. If you want to help us spread the word, consider enlisting the help of family members and co-workers who may have a vested interest.”
She also wished to thank Meridian Senior Living for organizing and hosting the event, which she said is, “a first-of-its-kind opportunity for American supporters of Validation to influence and educate our community leaders.”
