  • Role Play 1:
    Sympathy: It’s great that your husband sent you hear to rest and relax. How can I make you feel more at home?

    Confrontation: This is your home now.

    Role Play 2:
    Reassurance: There’s no need to worry about your kids. They are ok and at home being looked after by your Husband.

    Diversion: There is an activity starting now. Lets go get you a seat up front with your friends.

  • I did not know a lot about Validation before this course. But I was using some of it without realizing it. Our DON had taken the course but I have been the one in our memory care unit to try to handle behaviors. I always showed kindness and empathy calming them down and figuring out their needs. I’m looking forward to using this method.
